THE ENGLISH BAKER

For the (Canadian) English Baker, we designed this beauty top to bottom. What was a dark cramped kitchen, turned into one of the brightest most beautiful classic kitchens we have ever done. This classic airy English design is one we love and will never forget.

Renovations always require grace because they are difficult to get through, especially while living in the house. When you live in the house during a renovation, you become privy to things that should remain behind the curtain. It causes unnecessary stress and it can be daunting. Trusting the process and your team is huge. Luckily this sweet family were complete rock stars through the process and the outcome is dreamy.

When I first met this family, they opened the front door and immediately to the left was their office. I LOVE a good office refresh. I think an office and a powder room you can have so much fun with. It doesn’t have to necessarily match the entire house yet enough to be cohesive and maybe a little avant garde. We were able to build in a bourbon bar and placed his signed hockey jersey front and center. That jersey wasn’t her favorite at all because it was so big and once we gave it purpose…it changed her mind.

We remodeled both living room, stairwell, dining room, powder room, laundry room, closet into a wine room and, of course, their new chef’s kitchen. We custom stained the floors a deep rich espresso/ebony and painted the house french grey cut 50/50.

I wanted a timeless, approachable feel with a touch of modern and I think we accomplished just that!
